It is now all set to be pulled down; and a premium residential complex is to take it's place.
Located on the scenic East Coast Road, the Drive-in theatre and restaurant complex provided an open air movie viewing experience. It had a 4500 sq.ft. giant screen and a dedicated bay for each car. And there was a 500 seater gallery, for those who did not want to watch from their cars. Prartthana had 7.30 pm and 10.30 pm shows only. And families sat in the chill breeze, relished popular dosa varieties from the canteen.
It now joins the list of single screen theatres, that have been forced to shut operations, after the Covid pandemic. "It has not been functional for about four years," said a worker at the site.
