"As an interim measure, since it has already been awarded, we deem it apt to say that the fourth defendant should not be recognised as a  recipient of the M S Subbulakshmi award," the apex court said. 

The CJI had replied to the Additional Solicitor General N Venkatraman, that the award could be taken back if the court finds any merit in the challenge.
