Soman is also Sa-ha-Uma; He with Uma.
And the white garment is woven together as 2 modules, - 9 & 5 or 10 & 6 - upper and the lower.
Married men wear a 9-5 or a 10-6 pair with pleats, or kachams.
It is held that, to read the minds of men who wear this un-stitched, yet pleated garment, is difficult - all ends of the fabric are tucked in, and not trailing.
In south Indian tradition, bachelors wear a 4 elbow length, single piece, free end Mundu.
